LEGAL, EVERY INSTALL.
In Illinois, sedans are allowed 35% VLT (Visible Light Transmission) on all side and rear windows. For SUVs and multi-purpose vehicles, you can go darker on the rear windows, but the front-side windows must remain at least 50% VLT. At Porter’s Detailing, we ensure every installation in Grant Park meets IL state regulations.

How long does a tint installation take?
A standard full-vehicle installation typically takes 2 to 4 hours depending on the vehicle size and film type.
When can I roll my windows down?
We recommend leaving your windows up for 3–5 days after installation so the moisture can fully evaporate and the film cures perfectly.
Is ceramic tint worth it over carbon?
If heat is your main concern, yes. Carbon gives you a great look and privacy, while our Geoshield C2 Ceramic blocks up to 98% of infrared heat for a noticeably cooler cabin in humid Illinois summers.
Will tint interfere with my phone or GPS?
No. Both films we install are non-metallic, so cell, GPS and radio signals pass through normally.
What is the warranty on your film?
Both Union Carbon and Geoshield C2 Ceramic carry a lifetime manufacturer warranty.
