Your vehicle remains inside our shop for at least 24 hours following application.

After initial curing and final inspection, your vehicle is released with specific aftercare instructions.

Curing continues after pickup. Full cure is approximately 12 days from application, subject to the manufacturer’s instructions.
The full-cure period does not mean a 12-day shop stay. Follow Porter’s product-specific aftercare throughout curing; do not wash immediately after pickup. Appointments require dedicated preparation and installation time, with pickup timing confirmed during scheduling.

How long does ceramic coating last?
C12+ is rated for 12 months, Advance for 3–5 years, and Revolution for 6+ years. Actual longevity depends on environmental exposure, maintenance, and product-specific guidance.
How long does the entire ceramic coating appointment take?
Timing depends on vehicle condition, correction requirements, and coating installation. Vehicles remain indoors for a minimum of 24 hours following application. Arrange transportation while your vehicle is with us; we confirm pickup timing during scheduling.
Does ceramic coating prevent scratches?
No. Coatings support gloss and easier maintenance, but do not prevent rock chips, eliminate all scratches, or protect against impacts.
Does my vehicle need paint correction before ceramic coating?
Every package includes paint correction and surface preparation. We inspect the finish to determine the appropriate work; not every defect can be safely or completely removed.
Can a brand-new vehicle benefit from paint correction before coating?
Often, yes. New vehicles can still arrive with minor defects from transport and dealer washing. We inspect the paint and correct it before coating.
Does ceramic coating make my vehicle maintenance-free?
No. It makes maintenance easier, but the vehicle still needs regular, safe washing to look its best.
How should I wash a ceramic-coated vehicle?
Do not wash immediately after pickup. Follow the aftercare instructions supplied for your coating during the approximately 12-day full cure from application. Once washing is permitted, use gentle hand-wash methods with clean wash media and avoid automatic brush washes.
Can ceramic coating help make my vehicle easier to clean?
Yes. Its hydrophobic behavior helps water, dirt and grime release more easily, so routine washes take less effort.
What is the difference between C12+, Advance, and Revolution?
C12+ (12 months) includes one-step correction and paint prep. Advance (3–5 years) adds glass and trim protection. Revolution (6+ years) includes full paint correction plus glass and trim protection.
Does ceramic coating help with Illinois road salt?
Coatings can make road grime, road film, and salt residue easier to remove. They do not replace regular washing or guarantee corrosion prevention. Prompt, safe cleaning remains important throughout winter.
Can ceramic coating prevent water spots?
No coating eliminates all water spots. Mineral deposits can remain when water dries on the finish. A coating may make cleaning easier, but timely washing and drying are still important.
Is ceramic coating worth it for a daily driver?
It can be a practical choice if you want easier routine maintenance and long-term paint appearance. We recommend a package based on your vehicle, paint condition, exposure, and care habits—not simply the longest-rated option.
